Who doesn’t love a good fail compilation? I know I do, and this one brings out the chuckles for sure. The monumental popularity of the Nintendo Wii happened to occur right as YouTube and camera phones were gaining popularity. This aligning of the stars resulted in a number of pretty epic fail videos.

Quick rundown: the Nintendo Wii was a massively successful game console based around motion controls. Many of its games, namely the system selling pack-in title Wii Sports, incorporated the players real life motions into the control scheme, offering a loose (but damn fun) simulation of the actual sport. And even though Nintendo included preventive measures such as a lanyard for each controller and a rubber grip, they ultimately could not force players at home to use them. Remotes went flying, and the cameras were rolling.

What we have here is two minutes of amusing “whoopsies” to sit back and watch. In some cases, it looks like the hardware and TV sets survive the ordeals In most cases, they do not. Older CRT sets tend to fare better than newer HD ones. Now several years removed from the craze, it’s perhaps even more fun to watch these cringeworthy lapses in judgment.

A North Texas native, I was born in '80s and grew up '90s playing a hefty amount of NES, Sega Genesis, and SNES. Some early favorites include Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, Road Rash II, and Super Mario World. As the 3D revolution took hold in the late 1990s, my interest in video games waned while my interest in music grew. Then around 2007, I started recollecting some old favorites which led to discovering classics I missed out on. The casual hobby snowballed into a full-blown obsession, and it became my mission to make up for years of lost gaming.
