In the midst of video game adaptation hysteria, Universal Pictures is gearing up to release Five Nights at Freddy’s, a feature length film based on the game franchise of the same name. Created by Scott Cawthon, the 2014 game was a surprise sensation that takes Night Trap inspired gameplay and places it in a Chuck E. Cheese-style children’s arcade. And now nearly nine years later, audiences are receiving what looks like a pretty interesting take on the franchise in the form of a live action movie. It’s set to release on October 27, 2023, and they just released the first real glimpse in a 45-second teaser trailer. Take a look!

A North Texas native, I was born in '80s and grew up '90s playing a hefty amount of NES, Sega Genesis, and SNES. Some early favorites include Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, Road Rash II, and Super Mario World. As the 3D revolution took hold in the late 1990s, my interest in video games waned while my interest in music grew. Then around 2007, I started recollecting some old favorites which led to discovering classics I missed out on. The casual hobby snowballed into a full-blown obsession, and it became my mission to make up for years of lost gaming.
